Project Overview
Mastering orbital mechanics is a fundamental but complex aspect of space engineering.Existing simulation tools often lack intuitive and user-friendly interfaces. This lack of accessible software creates a steep learning curve for students.Satellify is developing an open-source, user-friendly platform for satellite mission planning.
The platform is based on a modular and customizable architecture.Users can select, combine, or isolate mission aspects to model specific scenarios.Current development focuses on core orbital mechanics functionalities.These include orbit change planning, mission operations, and orbit propagation.
Orbit propagation accounts for perturbations such as Earth’s oblateness (J2) and solar radiation pressure (SRP).The long-term vision includes expanding features to thermal analysis, radiation effects, and more.
